The Hoot on the Mezzanine Owls

The Mezzanine Owls' debut production, Slingshot Echoes, was an album several years in the making. Written primarily in 2005, recorded in Athens, GA in 2006, and released in September of last year, this record clearly was crafted with care. What's more impressive is the fact that this was all done without a label providing support from them.

Coincidentally, or maybe not since the album was recorded with Andy LeMaster (who's worked with Bright Eyes), the vocals on the album often hint at tones like Connor Oberst's, with a backing sound which seems to draw upon 90's brit rock sound.
