Pretending

You see i never thought enough of myself
To realize that losing me could mean
Something like the tears in your eyes
And i want to tell you i'm sorry
And it's too late to start
But i'm going to stop pretending
That i didn't break your heart

Your last two posts are super contradictory. Which is okay.. but I'm just sayin'. And then there is the fact that "For love to last, you had to have illusions or have no illusions at all. But you had to stick to one or the other. It was the switching back and forth that endangered things." I would think that "pretending" is somewhat pseudonymous with "illusions". And if music be the food of love, (and love is music, right?) play on... but be consistent so that you don't endanger the clarity! Totally kidding. Well, kinda. ;) Definitely rambling a some.

Beautiful songs by the way.

Is there really any complete clarity when it comes to love? At its core, isn't a component of love its unfathomability?

You're either in love or you're not. That much is pretty clear. I don't think love is that unfathomable. I've never met a person that hasn't been in love at least once. It isn't as shocking as we like to think it is.

We will have to agree to disagree there anon. It's not always as simple as if you love or not. And I think how love works, and why love works, is many times inexplicable.

Since when does love work?! Love is fleating. People change lovers like they change vehicles...
