Released yesterday, Rufus Wainwright's newest album, Release the Stars. While I haven't had a chance to pick it up yet, I do have an interview and songs that Rufus performed on KCRW way back in 1998 on Morning Becomes Eclectic as a promo for the release of his self-titled first album. In this day and age of constantly shifting stars and attention spans, it's rather refreshing to still be listening to someone who's been releasing albums for close to 10 years now.

And just because it's one of my favorite covers...

i've heard release the starts all the way through a few times and it's really good
i like rufus wainwright. i just hate his sideburns! since the beginning of his career it seems.
thanks for the tracks anyway.
Yeah, I love that cover, too. Thanks for the post! Release The Stars sounds good ... it's still symphonic, yet it feels more accessible because I think the lyrical complexity was turned down a notch. Still a good album. :)
