Sunday Soul - Booker T. and the MGs

A hearty congratulations to Booker T. and the MGs for getting inducted into the Musicians Hall of Fame earlier this week (news article here). I've posted about them before, but for those not keeping score, the group WAS the fabled Stax sound (and a lot of the Atlantic sound for that matter) of 60's and 70's soul music. Listen to almost any Stax album of the period and you're more than likely listening to the MGs whether their name is on the cover or not.

Booker T. and the MGs - Groovin' (Rascals cover) : Groovin' 7"

Booker T. and the MGs - Slim Jenkin's Place : Groovin' 7" B-side

Get them both on Hip Hug-Her.
