Dawn Landes' Bodyguard

Having your apartment broken into is bad enough. How could it be even worse? How about if the master (and one and only) recording of your second album got taken when the punks took your computer? Unfortunately for Dawn Landes, that very thing happened to her. “I never looked back or tried to recreate those songs, never played them, nothing. I just started over from scratch. I wrote Bodyguard in the kitchen while waiting for the police to show up.”

You can check out the results below. It's the first track from her upcoming sophomore album Fireproof, which is due out March 4th, and it's got a grainy feel to it like a Cat Power song.
