Do people like Dean Martin exist any more? I can't imagine anyone that could fit into a role of a "new Dean Martin".
No way jose. No one even close. They broke the mold after the Rat Pack were made. And besides, some of his humor wouldn't exactly be publicly acceptable in this day and age.
You got that right. This brings us to the topic of great men gone. How come there are no heroes like that any more? New Hemingways, Brandos, Mastroianis, Bulgakovs? Or am I missing something?
I think being a manly-man isn't in anymore. I think our culture's (and when I say our, I'm talking about American) perception of what a man is and how they should act has changed as the role of women and their empowerment has grown.
