This brings us to the topic of great men gone. How come there are no heroes like that any more? New Hemingways, Brandos, Mastroianis, Bulgakovs? Or am I missing something?
I think being a manly-man isn't in anymore. I think our culture's (and when I say our, I'm talking about American) perception of what a man is and how they should act has changed as the role of women and their empowerment has grown.

Do people like Dean Martin exist any more? I can't imagine anyone that could fit into a role of a "new Dean Martin".
