Architecture In Helsinki (in NYC)

The six member frolicking group of musicians known as Architecture In Helsinki are back with their third album, Places Like This, which is scheduled to be released in a few weeks on August 21st. The group has relocated their center of gravity from Melbourne, Australia to NYC and as Cameron Bird (vocalist / songwriter) puts it, "Compare my reality in Melbourne to the reality of living in New York? Well you can't really. It's like living on two different planets." Listening to their latest album, you, too, might think you've travelled to a different planet!

It's certainly a high energy affair with the six members of the band bringing in bass, drums, congas, percussion, synthesizers, trombone, guitars and samples that all mix together like your favorite tropical umbrella drink to spice up your summer. For those of you who might not have heard Architecture In Helsinki before, think Modest Mouse meets The B-52's with a sprinkling of synth-pop love to sweeten the deal.
